Job Purpose:
The Estimator/Project Manager is responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with acoustic ceiling projects for clients and managing the projects from initiation to completion. This role plays a critical part in the bidding process, providing detailed and competitive estimates that contribute to securing profitable contracts and ensuring the successful execution of projects. This dual-role is key to helping Magnum grow revenue through client relationships, accurate bidding, and effective project management.
Key Accountabilities
Project Assessment:
- Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to understand project requirements.
- Conduct on-site assessments to gather information and assess project scope.
- Identify potential risks, challenges, and opportunities that may impact project costs or timelines.
- Read project plans and specifications to determine the total project scope.
Cost Estimation:
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for acoustic ceiling projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to calculate quantities, pricing, and project timelines.
- Ensure estimates align with company pricing strategies and profitability goals.
Bid Preparation:
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, including detailed breakdowns of costs, project deliverables, and timelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams, general contractors, and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and accurate information.
- Review and analyze bid documents to ensure compliance with client requirements and specifications.
Client Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the bidding and project management process.

Project Management:
- Coordinate and oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the client’s satisfaction.
- Manage project resources, including labor, materials, and subcontractors.
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as needed to meet deadlines and resolve issues.
- Communicate regularly with all project stakeholders to provide updates and gather feedback.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in estimating and managing commercial ACT projects required.
- Field experience preferred.
- Proficiency in construction estimating and project management software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, Procore, Plangrid).
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, building codes, and project management principles.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.

Job Description: Drywall Project Project Engineer
Job Purpose:
The Drywall Project Assistant provides critical support to the Project Management team in the successful execution of commercial drywall projects. This role assists with project planning, coordination, and execution, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The project assistant is the right hand for the project manager and indispensable in project success.
Key Accountabilities
Project Coordination:
- Assist Project Managers in coordinating project activities and resources.
- Liaise with general contractors, architects, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Facilitate communication between project teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives.
- Second set of eyes and ears for the project manager in meetings. Listening, note taking, and providing information when needed to insure efficient project execution.
Documentation Management:
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and meeting minutes.
- Organize and manage project files, drawings, and other relevant documents in a centralized system.
- Prepare and distribute project-related reports, updates, and correspondence as needed.
- Lead and manage the entire RFI process including write ups, pictures, coordinating with drawings
- Coordinate with team for final approval of RFI then pass onto GC/architect
Quality Assurance:
- Facilitate weekly quality inspections and walkthroughs to ensure work meets specified standards.
- Document and report any deficiencies or non-conformances for corrective action in plan grid
- Support efforts to continuously improve quality processes and procedures.
Budget Tracking and Analysis:
- Assist in tracking project expenses, labor costs, and material purchases against budget allocations.
- Verify vendor invoices against budget
- Manage change order material pricing with vendors.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to analyze budget variances and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts to inform project decision-making.
Scheduling and Resource Management:
- Monitor project progress and resource utilization to identify potential scheduling conflicts or resource constraints.
- Coordinate with general contractors/subcontractors and suppliers to schedule deliveries and installations in alignment with project milestones.
Safety Compliance:
- Support efforts to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence among project teams and subcontractors.
Qualifications and Competencies
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in project management/project administration or degree in construction management.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft 360, Plangrid, Procore, OST, Quick Bid).
- Strong organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. (preferred over technical/detail ability)
